AquaSilk water softeners, fitted by CPS Plumbing & Electrical

Carrickmacross drinks well water from its own wellfield, and it's hard. We supply and fit AquaSilk softeners across south Monaghan with our own plumbers.
From €549 supply only, or €899 fitted in Carrickmacross.
10-year parts warranty with annual service.
Type your Eircode and your area's hardness reading appears right here, with a straight answer on whether a softener is worth it for you.
That doesn't look like an Irish Eircode. The first three characters are enough, e.g. A81.
Readings are from Uisce Éireann supply-zone data. Just the first three characters will do, and we don't store your Eircode.

Carrickmacross is one of the few towns in Monaghan that doesn't run on lake water. The public supply is pumped from a field of production wells and treated at the Nafferty plant, built on the site of the old reservoir above the town. Groundwater picks up calcium and magnesium as it moves through the rock, and our estimate for the town supply is around 250 mg/L of calcium carbonate, which is hard.
Softening the water where the main comes in protects the lot.
A typical three or four bed family home with two bathrooms suits the AquaSilk Midi. Apartments, couples and smaller houses in the town suit the Mini, and bigger houses with three or more bathrooms take the Maxi. The size picker below marks the right one.
Plenty of houses around Inniskeen, Donaghmoyne and Magheracloone are on their own well. The ground between Carrickmacross and Kingscourt holds limestone and the gypsum beds that are still mined there, and wells near the gypsum can carry calcium sulphate as well as ordinary hardness. A softener takes out the calcium but leaves the sulphate behind, so we never guess on a well. We send a sample to an accredited lab and specify the system off the results. See our well water treatment page.
Carrickmacross is about an hour and a quarter from our Dublin base, and we cover Inniskeen, Kingscourt, Castleblayney and Ardee on the same run. Order the softener fitted online or ring us, send a photo of your stop valve and the space beside it, and we book a slot. Two to three hours and you have soft water. For a price first, use the quote form. Monaghan town has its own water softener page, and the rest of the county is on our Co. Monaghan page.
Bigger house, more people or very hard water means a bigger tank. Tell us the household and we'll mark the right one for a Carrickmacross home.
How many people live in the house?

Water softener and drinking tap done yesterday by an absolute gentlemen named Iggy, he was efficient, tidy, clean and punctual, called me before hand to let me know roughly time arrives, did the job really professional, we would highly recommend the company and Iggy.
The difference in the water quality is amazing — softer water throughout the house and great-tasting drinking water straight from the tap. I'm very happy with both the products and the workmanship. Highly recommend EcoFilter Ireland to anyone thinking about improving their water quality!
We went for the complete setup: a whole house water softener, the Aplos Angel Direct Flow reverse osmosis drinking water system, and a spray hose triflow tap—and the difference has been amazing. Our entire home is now limescale free, which has made such a noticeable impact.
Anything else, ring 01 554 6266 or email info@ecofilter.ie. You'll get a plumber, not a call centre.
Send us your Eircode and a photo of where the mains comes into the house. We'll come back with the right size, what it'll cost fitted, and whether a softener is even the right answer for your water.
