Description
A good first test for any drinking water supply. It covers the bacteria that make people sick and the everyday problems that stain, scale and spoil water: iron, manganese, hardness, pH and more. A sensible yearly check on a private well, and a clear answer if you're unsure about your mains.
What it tests
- Bacteria: E. coli, total coliforms, enterococci, total bacteria count at 22°C
- Metals: aluminium, iron, manganese
- Chemistry: ammonia, nitrite, hardness (limescale), pH, conductivity
- Appearance: colour, turbidity (cloudiness)
In the kit
Three sample bottles, gloves and step-by-step sampling instructions.
How long it takes
- Kit posted to you within 2 working days
- Take the sample and send it back the same day by Express Post, or drop it to the lab in Drogheda. It must reach the lab within 24 hours, so sample Monday to Wednesday.
- If bacteria are found you're told by email within 3 days
